Hello everyone,

This question is for the Predator Helios 300. I've been doing a bit of research but I haven't found an answer yet about why the first week of having this amazing gaming laptop the battery life started at 7 hours a charge to just 3 hours and most notably now it only lasts 2 hours with 30 minutes. I've only played one game on this laptop from steam the first day and after that the battery life is now shortened. I have followed guides online and looked at the forums provided by Acer to make sure I am saving the most battery life, but it seems that it doesn't matter since when I disconnect the charge cable it says I have a little less than 2 hours of power before I have to plug it in again. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The power time is based off of what rate that power is being consumed in that instant. It is likely you have programs running in the background that are consuming the power. There isn't really a single, specific thing that can cause it. Do you still let Steam run in the background? Try looking in Task Manager for applications useing CPU power, or activating the NVIDIA GPU when it shouldn't be.
