Trying to register my new Swift online - system says it is already registered - how can this be?

New Swift bought from Curry's online. But am unable to register on Acer system as it says it is already registered. How can this be?
Have been unable to contact Acer as system won't recognise my Serial No/SNID.

    If it were me, I'd try to talk to a live person at 0344 561 1234 plus send an email to customer.services@currys.co.uk

    Seems odd to me that a new unopened-box machine would already be registered unless --- perhaps --- it was a previously returned item.
