Hello,

I have purchased the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51G-8227 last week. It has an i7-8550U and the MX150. Is it normal for the temperature to idle at 45-50°C and then when doing some more gaming such as CS GO or Path of Exile, the temperature to rise to 100°C? Is anyone else having this issue? I have used several temp monitoring software and I have the same result. The fans are on max setting as well.

Thank you!

100° is a problem dude. The average is 70° so there must be some overheating going on about. However, there are various internal and external factors for the rise in temperature. When was the last time you changed thermal paste on the machine? Also you should consider working on opening various applications to monitor the heat. Are your fans running properly?
    BElieve in YOUrself.

They seem to run properly, they are loud when it gets this hot in order to bring the heat down. How can I tell if they run properly? The settings are maxed out for the fans. I should not have to change the thermal paste on a laptop that I bought a week ago.

    Hi,
You could also consider return it for a replacement or a refund as well.

Indeed, this does seem like the best option.
