My desk top can't find my Wi-Fi. I'm running Windows 10 (it came w/8). Device Manager-Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter Device Data says "Currently this hardware device is not connected to the computer (Code 45). To fix this problem reconnect this hardware device to the computer. And under Software devices Wi-Fi it says the same thing. It was working fine until today. I didn't disconnect anything so don't know why and how this happened. My laptop, my wife's laptop and other devices are connected to the Wi-Fi so there's no problem with the router. Can anyone help?

Let's try uninstalling and restoring the Network driver.
Have you tried checking the Show hidden devices in the device manager?

In the search box on the taskbar, type Device Manager, and then select Device Manager from the list of results.
In Device Manager, select Network adapters > the network adapter name.
Press and hold (or right-click) the network adapter, and then select Uninstall device > Delete the driver software for this device check box > Uninstall.if the network adapter is not displayed, Click on view and press on "show hidden devices". After uninstalling the driver, select the Start  button > Power  > Restart.

After your PC restarts, Windows will automatically look for and install the network adapter driver. Check to see if that fixes your connection problem. If Windows doesn't automatically install a driver, try to install the backup driver you saved before uninstalling or from Acer support website.

The wireless on this model is a plugin module between the graphics slot and the two x1 slots. If it were to fail or the screw holding it in place were to come loose you would have those symptoms. If the antennas came loose it'd report everything was alright but you wouldn't see a signal. If the driver respin Sharanji suggests doesn't help check to make sure everything is physically still in the right place.
