Adaptive Vsync

Hi All,
I suffer with the common visual tearing, which happens on my external Samsung monitor when vsync is disabled (I leave vsync off intentionally for various reasons).
Having tried different methods to reduce the tearing, I hear a lot about "adaptive vsync" which can be enabled through the Nvidia settings. However, I cannot for the life of me find the option under the vsync options other than "use 3d app setting" or "on/off"...
Any ideas?

If the "adaptive vsync" is not listed on the drop down menu from the Vertical sync setting in the Nvidia Control Panel then the hardware likely does not support the feature.

So just to confirm- the PH317-51 has no adaptive vsync functionality?0
