Subj issue. Just forgot about the plug-in charger and launched PUBG. The laptop just turned off. The battery was 60%, Adaptive power scheme in NVIDIA settings. Latest driver.

Perform a battery reset. If it doesn't help then it is possible that your battery needs to be calibrated. After many not complete discharge cycles the battery meter may get confused and it may show that your battery is 60% when it actually is almost dying. To calibrate the battery go to power options>change plan settings>change advanced power settings make sure the critical battery level is set to 60%.

Does the laptop turn off at 60% while not gaming? It is possible that the battery isn't able to provide enough voltage to keep the system running at full load anymore.

If the laptop turns off at 60% battery no matter whether you game on it or idle then the battery probably needs calibrating. Plug in the charger and charge the battery to 100%. After it is fully charged turn off the laptop and leave it connected to the charger for sometime until the battey cools down. Turn on the laptop and unplug the charger and wait until the battery discharges fully. During that time you can use the laptop, but don't game on it as you need to keep the battery cool.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
