The Acer Nitro Spin doesn't necessarily have a bad cooler. What it has is bad airflow into the fans. I think this is a result of the laptop bottom being too flat, which is a necessity for a 2-1 laptop. I think the design could be improved by just adding some sort of foldable legs that raise the vents from the ground. As a current owner, the solution is simple. Get a laptop raiser, or use the tablet in tent or presentation mode for gaming, using a gamepad. Having said that, undervolting both GPU and CPU improves things further, and helps keep stable clocks high for longer.
