hello,  start at 65c and in an hour or so bounce around 85c - 97c+. elevated with no fan pad.

Curious what everyone else is hitting. Thanks.

    http://www.buildcomputers.net/cpu-temperature.html

Just make sure you are within the specified limit for your cpu and you are good to go.
    Hope that helped you.

You are going over 95c is a bit concerning.Make sure you are keeping your rig so as to allow proper airflow for cooling.
If for some reason that does't work i recommend buying a cooling pad for the same.
    Hope that helped you.

ya I am currently looking into investing in one. It just seems silly to have a gaming laptop not even be able to stay under 98c while doing what it was made to do.... is the idea of a "thin" gaming laptop kind of a joke?

Have you tried turning on coolboost.
You can turn it on by doing as mentioned:
    1. Press the Windows (Image icon_Windows8_keypng) key + Q to access the search charm.
    2. Type Quick Access and press Enter.
    3. Select Acer Quick Access from the returned results.
    4. Move the Coolboost toggle selector to the right to turn Coolboost on.
    Hope that helped you.

keep your laptop on a plane hard surface, such as a table while gaming that will allow proper airflow.
You can always get a cooling pad if nothing works.
Keep that as your last option.
    Hope that helped you.

I agree, I think its crazy it cant keep cool by it self. Currently its leveled about a inch up with the fan fully exposed. The fans get loud but don't really get like crazy loud as I expected.
