Why does my power cable stop charging

I purchased a predator 15. love the computer, but for this one issue:
 When I keep the plug in, I expect the computer to stay charging. However, after a short amount of use, I hear a beep and the comp[uter is running on battery power. No matter how many times I unplug and plug the cord, the beep sounds and I'm back on the battery. Is this normal functionality or is there something wrong with the computer? I notice certain programs (Chrome, Office, Edge, Sway, Filezilla, Studio One) will cause this change instantly. Case in point... as I was writing this post, the beep sounded and now I'm on battery power. Please advise

This sounds like a faulty connection within the motherboard. Try doing this:
1. Perform a battery reset https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/34843/~/acer-internal-battery-reset
2. Try doing a 'Reset This PC' in Windows
3. If those two don't work, contact Acer support.
