Linux installation on Acer Aspire E5-575g fails to boot after installation (UEFI)

I've read all posts about this problem and it is a SHAME that Acer doesn't support anything but Microsucksoft and their Windblows 8 or Windblows 10 systems. Acer actually upgraded the UEFI firmware beyond version 1.15 so you cannot install anything but Windblows and if you manage to install maybe Ubuntu, it is terribly slow and buggy. I am sorry for even buying this laptop and I will try to return it as soon as possible. I already know they won't let me return it so I will just have to sell it. A shame indeed. Buying a Dell or Asus laptop sounds good. Acer is really a dissapointment.

Please try to disable secure boot option and set boot mode to legacy under boot tab in BIOS.
This should allow you to boot your device with other operating system disc.

So I am not able to install Ubuntu on UEFI mode on my laptop???

Even with legacy mode still doesn't install properly. Cannot boot Linux after installation.

Try this step-by-step from a live Ubuntu stick.
( 0) Use Windows disk manager to pre-shrink Windows partition to make desired unallocated space for Linux installation.
( 1) Make bootable GPT/FAT32(default) stick from the Linux install iso with Rufus.
( 2) Set BIOS supervisor password(SECURITY), disable secure boot(BOOT)& enable F12 Windows boot mgr (MAIN). Save BIOS settings & exit.
( 3) Shutdown & insert bootable Linux stick
( 4) Turn back on while immediately tapping F12. Select Linux stick to run.
( 5) Preferrably select a default Linux install option
( 6) Follow on-screen instruction to install alongside Windows.
( 7) Let Linux automatically set & resize partitions for Linux & its swap. Adjust for more or less space if desired.
( 8) Shutdown & remove Linux stick.
( 9) Turn back on while tapping F2.
( 9) Re-enable secure boot(BOOT)& select UEFI file as trusted(MAIN). Select HDD0, SSD0 or eMMC0, then <EFI>, then <ubuntu>, then grubx64.efi the UEFI file. Enter grubx64.efi in the space provided if selecting it doesn't automatically enter it. Save BIOS setting and exit.
(10) Boot into Windows. Then shutdown.
(11) Turn back on while tapping F12.

I have an Aspire A515-51 running Ubuntu Linux 17.10 since the day I got it. I swapped the HDD for a SSD disabled secure boot and set boot mode to legacy( just like Sharanji said) and everything works like a charm. It's fast, stable and all the features work. Make sure you save the new BIOS settings upon exit. Good luck.

I've installed ubuntu in legacy mode in my one. At the beginning things work fine. However soon it starts showing some problems with the sound. I'd like to know if anyone has tried any linux distribution other than debian based?
