Acer B276HUL video input problem with new laptop

Hello,

I am having connectivity issues with my Acer B276HUL monitor and I was wondering if anyone here might be able to pinpoint the problem? I suspect the problem is the cables, but here's the history:

My (very old) Dell XPS laptop works with HDMI input.
My (4 year old) Dell Precision laptop works with DisplayPort input, but not HDMI.

My new laptop doesn't work with either of these ports, and only shows video with a USB-C to DisplayPort cable. This would be OK, but I need the USB-C port for laptop power.

I know the laptop and screen are connecting, because Windows 10 makes a chime sound.

The graphics card for the laptop is Intel UHD 620 / Geforce MX150.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Any help would be gratefully received.

Thank you

James

Probably you need a newer HDMI cable, check for one supporting 1.4 version.
    I'm not an Acer employee.
