Hello. Just bought a switch 3 notebook and after doing the usual configurations, reinstalls, etc. I noticed the FnF6 key stopped working. I think it had worked before at least once but cant be sure. It is the only Fn + F key not working. Any ideas?

    Hi jmsantos
Are all other key combination using the Fn key working like (brightness, sound up & down).
The Fn + F6 Turns the display screen backlight off to save power.  Try to press and hold the Fn key before pressing the F6 key in the combination.

Everything works fine except the hotkey Fn+F6.
    Any ideas?
If not, any other idea to switch off the screen?

Have you checked to see if the F6 key alone actually works in the bios or in an application that uses it? Jack E/NJ

How do you know this? Did the Fn+F6 toggle key combination turn the screen on and off like it should?  Jack E/NJ

Was talking about f6 key only. Fnf6 not working

Did you download & install anything other than Win10 updates? Jack E/NJ

don't think so... only the usual stuff, ccleaner, etc. Stuff that i have in another laptop where fn f6 continues to work...
I was wondering if updating the keyboard driver might work.

If you can recall the approximate date it stopped working, you might want to check control panel to see if auto Win10update created a restore point immediately before this date. If there is a restore point with this date stamp, the problem might be due to the Win10update. Jack E/NJ

Good luck with that. Not so easy to control & manage Win10updates as in earlier WinVers. Jack E/NJ

Here is the solution: you have to set “Sleep” for Power button or Sleep button in Power management. And Voila! Fn+F6 (and even Fn+F4 :-) works again ! :-) Enjoy!
