I can't seem to connect my laptop to our Smart TV. Our Smart TV is named AVISION 40". Our tv can connect to smart phones such as Samsung S8. But with my new Acer Aspire E 15, it doesn't connect. I have tried basic instruction on how to connect laptop to tv but it doesn't connect.

I assume you're trying to Cast or are you trying to use DLNA/uPnP connections? In layman terms, are you trying to play songs and videos on your TV from your Laptop or you're trying to cast your laptop screen to your TV?

Did you try HDMI connection? Can you provide some information to me about what you did so that I can help perhaps?

Yes I am trying to cast my laptop screen to my TV. So that I could watch movies from my laptop to our TV. the movie that I was trying to watch has a bg memory and I can't transfer it to a USB to watch it on TV. So I tried casting my laptop to our TV.
I haven't tried HDMI, I wanted it to be  wireless.

I suggest looking for a uPnP software to achieve this. Also, check if you are connected to the same network. Some ISPs provide a split frequency such as 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz so that it might cause this problem.

You need to be on the same network to cast and also, the laptop might support 5Ghz but your TV might not. In simple words, your TV should be connected to the same wireless network as your laptop. If this doesn't work, I suggest using a third party uPnP or cast software. Good luck!
