Not a single sign of life! As I already posted before, my Alpha Switch 12 gave up on its 13 month of usage, becaming a complete piece of useless ***** suddely. The last time of usage it didn’t show any sign of problem, and after that the machine refuses to turn on a single light. I took in 2 especialized places for fixing it in São Paulo. The first fixing place replied me saying they couldn’t do anything because nowhere sell the necessary components to fix the problem. The second fixing place said something similar, but they are still looking further contacting their international remain distributors who still didn’t reply his email about the issued components. Does anyone can indicate a store where I might find for sale those components and that also can send components to me in Brazil by post for this computer? I just feel like if nobody sells that I have to throw away my useless U$$850,00 1 year usage notebook...

I'm also looking for a motherboard in New Zealand. Called acer NZ and the board would cost me $1700 and to buy a new laptop $1400. Go figure.

Guess what? After 2 months without notebook, and taking it to 3 repair shops, only the third one figured out the problem! It was a sort of simple and dummy thing that happened. They just opened the laptop and reconnected the power cable of the battery, that is it! Problem solved!

Acer really should urgently release a bios update for prevent this to happen again, as this problem has proved to be commom in this notebook model, because I already read about this in another topic and even guiding the first repair shop guy to try it b/f everything else as a fix tip, I guess they didn’t...

That’s a ridiculous issue, because of that they lost the screw lid that stays underneath the support rod of the notebook and hurt a bit its joint carcass.

SO ACER, TAKE A STEP FOWARD AND WORK ON THAT! Avoid making any disappointed users!

@lggmello , I know it has been more than 10 months, so if you are still around quick question, what the cable lose or they removed it and re-connected as a "master" reset?
I have one in the same condition but nothing I have tried seems to work.
