Hello, I recently purchased an aspire e5774g, and the wireless network adapter drops the signal intermittently. I've tested all the other products in my home as well as my wireless connection, and this is an isolated incident to this particular product. I checked to see if there was an updated driver for this item, and it says the last updated wireless driver for the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Adapter was last updated on 10/27/16. The version of the driver says 4.0.2.262.  Can anyone point me in the right direction of a more recent update for the driver or help me troubleshoot this issue? Thanks so much!

Open Device Manager. Do you see any red or yellow warnings? If none, click on Network Adapters. Uninstall the driver for the wireless adapter. Exit and re-boot to let Windows re-detect the adapter and re-install its driver. Jack E/NJ

Hi there, I uninstalled it but nothing is happening, Windows is not prompting to detect it? I tried rebooting a few times and running Windows Updates, but not sure where to go from here.

Open Device Manager again. Any red or yellow warnings now? If not, click on Network Adapters again. Is the wireless adapter back? Jack E/NJ

Press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds till all power is shut off. Then press the power button once to turn the system back on to try to force Windows to re-detect the wifi and install its driver. Check Device Manager again for warnings and the wireless adapter. Jack E/NJ

    Hi,
Thanks for trying to offer me assistance. That didn't seem to help detect it either. Should I try to find a driver from the site?

Use the above link. Try the Atheros wireless driver first. For some reason, the driver you mentioned in your first post was NOT the latest ACER driver. It may have been the result of a Win update. Jack E/NJ

    Hello again,

I did try both of those, starting with the Atheros one. They are labeled as Qualcomm Atheros 11ac, and my laptop tells me my driver is Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377  so I think they may be listing the wrong ones on the support site? I'm not sure, but neither of those drivers worked for me unfortunately.

    >>>my laptop tells me my driver is Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377  >>>

Do you mean from Device Manager? If yes, does it have a warning symbol? Jack E/NJ

    Hi there,

Thankfully I have found a solution for this. I had to purchase a software called DriverEasy, and it installed the correct updated driver for me. I would probably warn others that the driver on Acer's support page for this model laptop is not the correct one, though.

I appreciate your help but my problem has been solved via using this software and letting it pull updates for my missing driver.

Congrats on the success. Sorry for the driver error on the support page. It appears that the correct driver might've been listed under the E5-573. But we'd still like to know if the intermittent behavior has been cleared up with the driver you found. Thanks. Jack E/NJ

    Hello,

Yes, this seems to have resolved the issue. I've had no problems all day!
