Hi All,

I cant find anything on the G3 having S/PDIF or optical/toslink for surround sound output? Is it a mini toslink port in one of the 3.5mm outputs? cant find any info about it anywhere. Surely this pc has 5.1/7.2 output to a decent astro headset or AV receiver?

Cheers

no S/PDIF available or toslink on your dekstop, about 5.1 output, you can only check under Realtek audio settings if you can set 5.1 output, some Realtek chips permit a re-routing audio jack.

Cheers for the feedback IronFly. So this $3k pc cant give me a digital sound output to my Astro a40 headset? I bought this specifically as a gaming pc and it cant give me surround sound out? Is this correct?

as far as i know, no S/PDIF or toslink is available as output.
you can check on the Realtek audio panel too if there's a mention of optical out:
press windows key and type Control Panel, click on control panel and then click on HD audio manager
by the way, i suggest you to contact Acer support service by phone, since you are still under warranty.
