Laptop keeps saying hardware device error.

I am not sure which series I have but it is a very old laptop I purchased to donate to some less fortune students. it is an Aspire 5515.   It had been donated to a catholic store consignment. it had a password on it and in attempt to restore the software on the laptop. it has vista on it. after doing so I got an error everytime. after multiply tries to repair. I'm
 completely lost as what to try now.  

Here is the error code I keep getting when trying to do a complete restore on the laptop.

any advice would be great. Thank you...

    Try to coldboot tapping F2 into the BIOS menu. If you see a MAIN dropdown, make sure D2D recovery is enabled. Also look in the BOOT dropdown for any options that might prevent a recovery or a reset. Then F10 to save and exit any changes you might or might not have made Then try to do another ALT+F10 coldboot reset. Jack E/NJ
