When MS updated late last year the touchpad stopped working. I re installed driver from acer site, no good. Then I reset the computer, keepimg the files, and all was well again. However, the next time I turned on MS kindly re installed the updates with the touchpad again defunct. I did hear that there was a patch that would prevent updates making changes to drivers and might solve problem. i have a mouse connected but under device drivers there is only that mouse listed. The touchpad does not exist. Any solutions would be welcome as I use laptop in meetings and the touchpad is so much easier to use, not requiring a table etc.

In windows search type 'change device installation settings' without the quotes and select 'No'. This should disable the automatic driver update.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
