Standard AC Adapter (Liteon 330W) for Predator 17 GX-791 gone
Morning, my adapter has gone 4 months after purchase. Have tested connections, tested the plug socket, tested in different sockets and tested with a different 3=pin main power lead. All tests fail to register a "power on" light on the brick and the laptop doesn't receive power. Laptop itself is fine. Questions:
1. Is this covered under the manufacturing warranty given that it came with the machine?
2. Will Acer insist on trying to repair the adapter or will they issue a new one?
3. If a repair attempt is required, will I get a loaner? Don't much fancy being without the product for a couple of weeks or more and don't have the money to buy a second adapter.
4. I've filled in the "book your own repair" area of the Acer website and am awaiting a shipping box. Is it worth calling Acer (in two days when their lines re-open) to discuss the issue? The "BYOR" area was cleared designed for issues with the machine itself where as this is an external component so it might be sensible to treat it differently.
Cheers in advance,
Rich
