Wi Fi Internet connection

I'm staying in a hotel. WiFi connection says "connected". However, when I attempt to open my browser, I get a error msg that says something like "Network cable is unplugged..."

There is no network cable. I'm on Wi Fi and my Wi Fi indicator says I'm connected OK.

It was working fine one day. The next morning I got this error msg.

Did I inadvertently hit a wrong key on the computer?  A problem with the hotel router?

Thank you.

Could be the router, lets see if you can connect to the local address of the router

    To do this:

    Win7:

Click the Orb on the lower left

Type in cmd, and hit enter when the list is done loading

A window that is backgrounded black with grayish text should appear

    Type in the following:

    ipconfig

A lot of stuff will come up, that is normal.

Look through the text for something labeled: Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection

Under that you will find a few lists

You want to find the Default Gateway

Look over to the right of the text "Default Gateway" and you should see some numbers, like 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (could be something completely different)

Write down the numbers and go back into your browser.

Type in the numbers EXACTLY. Just like how you saw it (10.0.0.1)

And click enter to load the address.

If you get a error, the problem is on the computer.

If you get a login page, its their fault.
