GPU Power Limit on VN7-593G?
So I've recently been playing around with options to lower the temps of my V15 Nitro (2017).
I managed to get the CPU to an incredible <70°C under full load (prime95 max heat preset), through undervolting and repasting.
Now I tried to tickle some more out of the GPU, but I ran into an issue:
When trying to undervolt the GPU by adjusting the Voltage/Freq curve in Afterburner, I realized that the curve never even triggers, because under full load, my GPU is always throttling because of power limit. Temps stay reasonable (nothing over 83°C), but the GPU core clock barely ever reaches the 1405MHz base, hovering more around 1300MHz, and the voltage stays around 0.7-0.725V (both according to GPU-Z, which also shows that the PerformanceCap reason is permanently the Power Limit.
So I was just wondering, did Acer intentionally set the power limit on the GPU so low, that it can never perform at full stock speed? Is there any way to raise the power limit, so I can at least get my GPU to run at the base clock?
