And no, I don't care about power consumption.

Did you try restarting your laptop after making the changes?

To skip PredatorSense, RealTemp will tell you the temperature of the GPU even when its idle.

The NVIDIA GPU is a co-processing unit when gaming, but the NVIDIA GPU is not directly connected to the screen. So, when you use the NVIDIA GPU, the processed information goes back through the integrated Intel GPU to the screen. You wont see any major performance improvements with the NVIDIA GPU enabled constantly.

I posted this answer in the other thread.

You can change the default GPU in NVIDIA Control Panel (Selecting the NVIDIA as the preferred), or use this program: https://github.com/jobeid/TrayPwrD3

Even when I do that, PredatorSense still says my GPU is idle except when in games. It doesn't even tell me the temp.

There is no point of letting you know what the temperature is, when the GPU is inactive.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
