Acer G3-605 Dual Monitor Issue

Good Evening (morning, midday, etc.),
I have an Acer Predator G3-605. It has an Nvidia Geforce GTX 745 and Intel I5. I recently acquired two Hp Compaq LA2405WG monitors. The machine has a single DVI and a single HDMI on the Graphics card output. The DVI connects up just fine, but the monitor I am trying to connect the HDMI isn't being found at all. The connection is using an HDMI to DP cord. I have tried rolling back drivers, this did nothing. I have updated both the monitor and the graphics card drivers, to no avail. I even tried changing the cord (I thought the connection shroud might be interfering). It is not recognizing the monitor at all, even when the HDMI is the only one plugged in. I have tried switching the inputs, both monitors work, because whichever is plugged through DVI will show. And believe me I have tried turning it off and turning it back on again. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance.

You may try to manually set the input mode using the menu option on the monitor and check if you get the display.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have manually set the source to DP and have set the default to DP. It is still getting no signal.

Did you ever resolve this issue?  I am about to acquire a second monitor and will have the same setup.  Any suggestions appreciated.

The issue was in the difference between a DP to HDMI adapter and an HDMI to DP adapter. They are quite different internally and can't be interchanged.
