Acer Aspire R13 / Red Line on Screen Issue

I have an Acer Aspire R13
(R7-371T-78XG-US W81ML64A13/I7-4510U/BT/8G/128GB  to be precise -- that is the info
that Acer gave me based on my serial number; not sure why it begins R7 )

The laptop functions nicely, but suddenly developed a thin red line at the absolute left side of the screen.
The screen is fine otherwise.
I see discussions of generic LCD issues online and "lines on the screen" often means a loose connection or cable somewhere.

Any recommendations for how to fix this on this Ezel-style screen?

if you are still under warranty, contact Acer support service.
since the laptop need to be opened and checked on the video ribbon cable or LCD panel itself.
    I'm not an Acer employee.

It is out of warranty; naturally, I explored that with Acer already.

I need instructions in how to test if this is a) a cable issue or b) a screen issue.  The problem, again:
a very fine red line at the absolute left edge.

Does anybody have any instructions for working on an Ezel screen to execute these tests/ repair this problem?  This is the coolest laptop I have ever had--I want to fix it, though the problem isn't huge at the moment.  I have read these "line on screen" issues can get worse, though.  Thanks.
