Predator 17 not outputting audio when connected to my monitor

For some reason, whenever I connect my Acer Predator 2017 to my monitor (also acer) via HDMI, the sounds stops working. Can someone explain this?

    had you check if your monitor is recognised as playback device?
    right click the speaker icon near clock and date at the bottom right of your screen, click on playback device, check if is listed.
