aspire 5750 . can anyone help me. I have an Aspire 5750. I would like to know whether it can handle the Wireless 5Ghz band other than the 2.4Gh thank you. If yes, how do I enable it?

Go to device manager>network adapters>your wi-fi card's name>advanced>Property:wireless mode>Value don't change the value if you find somewhere the letters 'a' or 'ac' then your wi-fi card supports 5GHz. Now if there current value doesn't have 'a' or 'ac' look for the last value(the largest number), which usually contains all the characters. If you don't find anywhere 'a' or 'ac' then you wifi card doesn't support 5GHz band.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

  • Hi,
We need to know the make and model of your WiFi card, however, go to Device manager, expand Network adapters, highlight and right click the WiFi card, select Properties, go to Advanced tab, highlight Preferred Band, select the band 5GHz if it's available( available only in dual band cards) with the dropdown arrow.
