Laptop Battery not working....

It seems to be a regular occurrence with Acer's. I have a Nitro v17 Nitro Black Edition. Battery is not charging at all. I've reset the battery, uninstalled and reinstalled the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery. I've reset the battery, shut it off and let it sit overnight. It showed the battery was at 100%, but when I unplugged it. It shut off.

Also, I was on the community website and did the chipset driver update as well.

Is there anything else that I can do or try to get this to work before I start calling Acer about returning this thing?

  • Hi,
Open Intel HD Graphics settings, go to Power, Disable Enhanced Power saving Mode and see whether it fixes the problem, if it doesn't, you need to send for a service, it could be the battery safety switch may be stuck in disable state. You could try loosening the screws at the back, you need to try one by one, don't loosen them too much, just a notch. The screws you need to loosen are marked with yellow circle, there's a tab on the back cover acts as a switch, it may release the switch if the screw is not overtighten.
