1. I had it shipped for repairs less than a year ago for a HD fail. Should I assume that they upgraded the BIOS firmware to the latest version (at that time) as well? How do I check?
2. I would like to change the HD to an SSD. Tech support replaced my HDD with a slow one and installed Windows 8 using the UEFI / secure mode. I'd like to install a multiboot on a new SSD and obviously for that I need to transfer their install on the new SSD with the UEFI / secure mode off. Is that possible?
3. Can I purchase a 4GB RAM (DDR3 L) to upgrade to 8GB from Acer? If yes, how? If not, what kind of memory should I be looking for?
4. Can I purchase a DVD or BR drive from Acer? Which model and how? How about an SSD-caddy replacement?

    (1) No. Unless there was another problem, they probably left the BIOS firmware alone. You can check the version by entering the BIOS menu on the INFO dropdown.

    (2) You can use freeware like AOEMI or partition wizard to migrate Windows from the HDD to the SSD.

    (3) Go to Crucial dot com and enter your model into their advisor for the compatible memory and SSD upgrades

    (4) Do you already have a DVD drive installed?
