How do I Disable USB 3.0?

Hey Forum.

I'm pulling my hair out (haven't got much left either)!
I bought a Aspire T3-710 desktop machine. To cut a long story short I produce music and my main piece of hardware is an Akai MPC Renaissance which in a way acts as the soundcard for my PC which is connected via USB so it can communicate with its software to record sound and midi signals. Problem is it doesn't work as after less than 5 minutes at a time it produces crackling and distorted noise (almost as if its struggling with latency issues (which it isn't)).
It turns out after many emails back and forth with Akai that the problem is the MPC renaissance was designed for use with USB 2.0 ... not 3.0.
They are no use at all and just tried selling me the newest flagship that does support USB 3.0!
Others have worked around it by disabling USB 3.0 is there BIOS. I Have gone into my BIOS but I doesn't have that option.

Is there another way I can disable USB 3.0 so all the USB ports on my machine run as USB 2.0?

your BIOS is already the latest.

about USB2.0, had you tried to connect to the rear USB2.0 ports too?
by the way, i confirm, no USB2.0 option on BIOS.

you can try 2 workarounds:
1) install ASIO4ALL drivers and use them instead of the AKAI's:

2) buy a PCI USB2.0 card to put inside your desktop case (on the white port over the GPU)

i don't think that option is available on your model, by the way, can you please check your BIOS version?

It says my BIOS date & version is American Megatrends Inc.R01-B1 date is 07/02/2017

So is there no way I can disable USB 3.0 on my machine to make them run on the 2.0?

I have tried the ASIO drivers to no luck. same problem.
My hopes are high with the PCI card you listed though .. I've just ordered it!

Another thing I noticed Is i don't have the rights to open task manager? I know the mpc problem has nothing to do with latency but thought i'd double check by looking at the performance at the time it started crackling .. then realised i don't have permission! Im the only user listed on the PC too. Cant be a virus as i deliberately left my new PC offline to use solely for producing on .. I didn't want viruses ruining the performance.

sorry also to answer your other question - yes I have tried to plug into the USB2.0 ports but still get the same problem. I didn't understand the details as to why this doesn't work but it was along the lines of the USB3.0 controllers/drivers or something also run the 2.0 ports which is the problem.

I'll keep you updated when the card arrives

Still couldnt get my task manager working.. seems im locked out of alot of things by the administrator (which is me!) i cant do regedits or anything

On the plus side .. thankyou!! The USB Card arrived today .. I've had it in now for around 4 hours opened up a new project in the mpc and started making a backing track and not a single crackle or delay has happened.. I cant thank you enough Ironfly this was literally my last hope.

You could just try going into your device manager and uninstalling or Disabling any USB Device you do not want to use
then reboot your computer
