This just started today.  The laptop turns on and stop at the Acer splash screen.  No spinning disc at the bottom or text, just the Acer logo.  I have left it there for an hour with no change.  After reading some other people's solutions I tried powering it up without anything connected like usb or power cord.  I also tried starting it up without Wi-Fi connection and left it for 45 minutes to see if there was an update having trouble.  There was a Windows update that it kept bugging me about the past few days that I have postponed, so maybe it tried to update and got inturrpted somehow, I'm not sure.  I have been able to press f2 upon startup and get to the bios menu stuff, but i don't know what to do from there if I can do anything.  How should I proceed with trying to diagnose or solve this issue?

I'm pretty sure it came pre-installed with 8.1 but a free upgrade to 10

Edit:I just doublchecked with my order confirmation and it did come with 8.1 pre-installed

OK. Try this first. Turn the machine off by pressing and holding the power button for about 5 seconds. Then start tapping the F2 key. Then while still tapping the F2 key, press the power button to turn the machine back on. Keeping tapping F2 till the BIOS menu appears. Then simply press F10 to save settings and exit. Report back. I went through that sequence and even waited 5 minutes, but it's still stuck at the same screen.

Yep, got into the bios menu ok.  Was able to go through with the f10, save settings, and exit, but it just went back to the same Acer logo screen.

Good. At least your BIOS doesn't seem to be messed up unlike others have had happen with Win10updates.

OK. Try this next. If you're at the ACER logo screen, what happens when you press F8? Jack E/NJ

Well that's good to know at least.

I pressed F8 once and waited, a couple times, tried holding it down.  I also shut the comouter off and turned it back on again and tried F8 but it doesnt seem to do anything.

At this point, I  think you have two choices if you didn't create your own Win10 system backup. You can either try to (1) re-install Win10 from a USB installation stick made using Microsoft online tools that may or may not recover your personal files, or (2) recover your system to a factory-fresh Win8.1 state that also may or may not recover your personal files. You can reduce of the risk of losing personal files by removing the HDD and try to copy those files from another computer before trying to re-install Win10 or recover the original Win8.1 . Thanks for your help Jack.  I appreciate it.  I'll try taking out the hard drive and getting my files off and then try a system refresh and see if that works.

I have a Swift 3 computer and today when I tried to start it up it wouldn’t turn on, I have checked if it was out of battery but there’s a little light on the side and if the light is blue then it’s at full battery. I have tried holding the start Button for like 1 minute but nothing happens. Has anyone had the same experience or does anyone know how to fix this?

Look underneath the laptop for a small pinhole use a pin or sim card ejector and press it 10 seconds should do it. This guide might help..
