Seems like bad business if it does.

    Hi all,

Please keep in mind that if  you don’t feel comfortable with the installation instructions we have provided https://us.answers.acer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/46866, we can always receive the unit in our repair center and install the kit at no cost (U.S. & Canada only), keep in mind that it can take 7-10 business days, this way you don’t have to worry about the risk of pulling or breaking any parts in your computer and voiding the warranty.

    Thanks,

Taking the bottom off of your laptop does not void warranty, which is the only major thing that is required to do to install the SATA cable. Warranty is void IF you break something while doing it.

The process is fairly easy. After removing all the screws, you remove the bottom panel (the kit gives you a wedge to do so), starting at the back corner near the HDMI port. Work your way from the back to the front, then to the back on the other side (you will hear the clips pop when they release). You unplug 1 ribbon wire, plug in the SATA cable, and plug the in ribbon wire. Put the laptop back together.

Keep track of your screws and your good to go.
