Acer CB5-312T-K5X4 user with a micro SD card issue..... I added a 6 in 1 dock which connects through the usb c port because this thing only has 1 usb A port. The 6 in 1 dock has the following ports: (2) usb A, (1) usb C, (1) hdmi, (1) SD card, and (1) micro SD card. I copied a bunch of files to the micro SD card and plugged it into the hub's port. It was recognized by the system and I was able to access and use the files. Then I started getting system messages saying the battery was getting low because of low power and I figured it had something to do with the dock because I have to run the power supply usb C cable through the dock into the chromebook. So I removed the dock and plugged straight into the power supply. At the same time I pulled the micro SD card and plugged it straight into the chromebook's card slot. The card shows up in the file manager but when I click to open it it says the card needs formatted. If I put it back into the dock and plug the dock back into the Chromebook using the usb C port, it shows up and has all the files as it should. Why would it work properly while in the dock but say it needs formatted when plugged into the CB directly?

Like it has to do with the formatted filesystem. Check to see which FS is in use (NTFS, FAT32, exFAT, etc.) and verify that it is supported both by the builtin SD slot and third party external slots.
