Left hinge on Acer Aspire broken, and bottom of laptop separating

Hi,

As I've noticed in some other questions, users have complained about the left hinge on this model laptop breaking, causing the screen to detach from the bottom. This has happened to my laptop, so that when closing my laptop, the screen becomes completely separated on the left. In addition, the bottom itself is becoming split along the left side near the top, which also separates more when I close the laptop. Even when I have the screen up, at around a 120° angle from the keyboard, the bottom section of the laptop is split so that I can see inside the laptop, and as I adjust the angle between screen and base, parts inside move. The splitting of the bottom has also caused the charging port to move deeper into the laptop, too. I feel that these issues are not due to negligence on my end, as I am always careful when using and transporting my laptop. It would be nice (and responsible) for Acer to address/acknowledge these issues, at the very least.

I suggest that you use color-coordinated duct tape to repair these sections so they don't get any worse. Available at Home Depot or Lowes. Jack E/NJ
