Hi, I installed windows 7 (to replace Vista, which it came with, which I hate) on a second-hand Extensa 5620 after formatting and erasing both C and D drives using DBAN.
The installation was fine but now the D drive does not show up at all.
I have searched for drivers or whatever but cannot find them - the ACER site doesn't show it.
The device manager does not show the drive.
How can i get my D drive back?

are you sure that C and D weren't only different partitions?
press windows logo + r keys
    type
    diskmgmt.msc

check if you see 2 HDD or a RAW unallocated space (this is your D drive) or post a screenshot here.

Thanks. Actually, ...I look at the sticker on the top and it says 250GB HDD. After following your instruction the window says C drive has 232GB, which I suppose is the same, which means yeah, it must have been a partition rather than a drive. Maybe they were each about half of that size to begin with. Come to think of it that sounds about right.

    Thanks for helping! :)
