Unable to add internal HDD to laptop - missing connections

Hello,

I recently purchased an Acer laptop (Model# A515-51-55FD) with the expectation that I would be able to install a secondary HDD to complement the onboard SSD.  There's an area on the bottom of the casing to install a second HDD, but upon unscrewing the case, there's no connection to install a HDD (no SATA, IDE - nothing).  Looking at other posts, this may need to be requested via Acer Support to send me the proper brackets?  If so, I am in need of these connections so a second HDD can be installed.

I have the same question too.  I opened up the compartment but there is no cable, wire or socket at all to connect the drive to.  Nothing on the manual either.   I saw a lot of people have this kind of problem so I hope they could do something about it.  However, it looks like their service is not able to give any answers to that.  Kind of disappointed.  If not because this laptop is on sale and it's the newest CPU available on the market, I would prefer other brand.  Can't believe something simple as adding a drive for people who has very good computer knowledge takes forever to find out how to do it.

The 2nd SATA HDD connector on the mainboard is located on the left side of the 2nd HDD compartment. Like the 2nd HDD itself, its bracket holder and  ribbon cable needed to reach this mainboard connector point are optional equipment. Jack E/NJ

    Hi,
You need to buy these parts( cable+ bracket) and fit them by yourself, please make sure that you will not void warranty by opening the back cover, contact Acer support in your country and get the confirmation.
You could find necessary information in this thread:https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/542133#Comment_542133
