    yes, correct.
R02 can be used only on R02 BIOS, so on motherboards that already support kabylake
R01 can't be updated to R02, so no support to new kabylake CPUs.

Yes you can from here. Download the latest version.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

without knowing the installed BIOS, you can't tell if he can update:
R01 can't be updated using R02 BIOS version

What is the difference between the R1 and R2 BIOS?

So the versions R02.A0 and R02.A1 are meant for the newer Predator G3-710 with the kabylake CPU, not to enable the older gen to be able to support kabylake. Or in other words the older gen g3-710 will have the R01 BIOS and can't upgrade to R02 and therefore no kabylake support for older g3-710's.

Thank you for clearing this up Ironfly.
