Hi everyone!

So I recently got an E5 575G 52DA and I really like it so far. Now, it came with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and I'm looking into upgrading it to 8GB. The RAM that it came with is:

DIMM # 1
SMBus address 0x52
Memory type DDR4
Module format SO-DIMM
Manufacturer (ID) Micron Technology (2C00000000000000000000)
Size 4096 MBytes
Max bandwidth DDR4-2400 (1200 MHz)
Part number 4ATF51264HZ-2G3B1
Serial number 13CA150F
Manufacturing date Week 35/Year 16
Nominal Voltage 1.20 Volts
EPP no
XMP no
AMP no
JEDEC timings table CL-tRCD-tRP-tRAS-tRC @ frequency
JEDEC #1 10.0-10-10-24-34 @ 727 MHz
JEDEC #2 11.0-11-11-26-37 @ 800 MHz
JEDEC #3 12.0-12-12-28-40 @ 872 MHz
JEDEC #4 13.0-14-14-31-44 @ 945 MHz
JEDEC #5 14.0-14-14-33-47 @ 1018 MHz
JEDEC #6 15.0-15-15-35-50 @ 1090 MHz
JEDEC #7 16.0-16-16-38-54 @ 1163 MHz
JEDEC #8 17.0-17-17-39-55 @ 1200 MHz
JEDEC #9 18.0-17-17-39-55 @ 1200 MHz
JEDEC #10 19.0-17-17-39-55 @ 1200 MHz
JEDEC #11 20.0-17-17-39-55 @ 1200 MHz

The laptop has another available slot for one more stick and I haven't really upgraded a RAM before so I was wondering if anyone can help me choose the right one. I tried to look for the Micron stick (above) in my region but it's not available anywhere so I guess I have to get one from a different brand and here are a couple that stood out to me:

Kingston ValueRAM 4GB 2400Mhz DDR4 SODIMM Laptop Memory (KVR24S17S8/4)
Kingston KVR21S15S8/4 4GB DDR4 2133MHZ SODIMM

They are both priced the same but I'm not sure if they'll work with the RAM already in my laptop and if they will, which one I should get?

    Thanks brummyfan2,

Since they have the same specs, the 2 sticks should work in dual channel mode, right?

So, it appears that the Kingston module is out of stock. Will this work as well?

One more question. If I get this one (Adata 8GB DDR4-2400 SODIMM AD4S240038G17-R) and install it together with the Micron memory module in my laptop, will it work in dual channel mode? I've read on the internet that it should work and that only 4GB out of the 8GB will be used while in dual channel mode, so what will happen with the other 4GB?

I have compared two modules and both have same specs, even if they are from different manufacturers, as long as the specs match it should work together, I think the issue you mentioned may be due to something else.

I have Crucial and Kingston modules working together with no issues.

Sorry, what I meant was mixing 2 modules with different capacities. Specifically adding an 8GB (Adata) module together with the 4GB (Micron) module already in my laptop. I have read that it should work in dual channel mode but only 4 out of the 8GB in the adata module will be used to match the other module (Micron) since is only 4GB.

If that is indeed the case, what will happen with the other 4GB of the adata 8GB module that's not being used for dual channel mode? And am I better off just getting the 4Gb adata module?

It's alright, if you want the memory to work in dual channel, you need to use  matching pair (2x4GB).

Hi everyone. I recently purchased a 2nd hand Acer E15 E5-575G-52DA from a friend. I was advised to upgrade the SSD and RAM the soonest possible because the unit lags. I already check Crucial website for compatibility. But I want to make sure if I have an M.2 type ssd or not. Can you advise where I can check what type of SSD should I buy and the RAM's GHz (or whatever it's name is)? Also, I'm in the Cebu City. So if you also have any idea where I can possibly buy the parts aside from ordering online because it will take a while.
