Hi all im new to this forum and I dont know if my laptop model goes in this catagory so if it doesnt please tell me, I have an Acer Aspire 4820TG TimelineX laptop that has had a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and all is good but for one thing, the programmable button next to the DVD eject button does not work and I have no programs to make it work, I tried to install the "Launch Manager Application" but I dont really think it is installing right because I cant find the App or its executable file anywhere afterwood. I have installed the chipset driver but nothing so far. Please help as I would like to use this button.

What do you mean by "clean install"? Did you use the ALT+F10 Win7 eRecovery boot method? Or ACER -specific Win7 installation CD or USB stick? Or perhaps a generic Microsoft Win7 CD? Jack E/NJ

JackE I deleted the partition and installed a fresh install of windows 7 with a DVD disk, so no Alt+F10, I used just the standard install disk like the ones you get with a license key when bought from the shop

Your clean generic Win7 installation is NOT the same as an ACER-specific Win7 installation. If the 'clean' installation didn't wipe the hidden ACER eRecovery partition, the system can be restored to a factory-fresh ACER-specific Win7 state by following this video ***exactly*** using the ALT+F10 cold boot method. You would also have the option of saving your data. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2xoMEPfiPQ
