Wireless router AC 1200

I installed new wireless router to my home and it works with our 2 mobiles and my wife laptop( windows10) My laptop doesnt find channels. It found all my neeighbors channels almost 20. I have microsoft 8.1 . What to do?

I just bought a new router last week, and still, haven't got it working the way. The wireless also keeps dropping out at random times. Is there a setting I should check into or change? Could I have a bad router? I get my internet service through Charter.
