You can enter BIOS and there is a setting for touchpad. Set it advanced. All drivers for your device you can find here:
    https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/support-product/7333?b=1
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.

i found solution for this problem, i have changed touch pad sitting in BIOS (Press F2 on startup) from Basic to advanced.
it can now scroll up and down and zoom in and out and flip different opened windows.

Just got my laptop back from warranty repair and had the mobo replaced. Ever since the touchpad has no advanced function (scroll, pinch zoom, etc).

If I change the bios setting to advanced, it does not work at all and instead of showing as a mouse in device manager it just shows as an I2C HID Device.

There is also NO Touchpad driver listed on the download page for the 576G. Any idea where we can get it?

Hi, I updated my bios version from version 1.32 to version 1.47. After updating i find my synaptics(gestures) are not working and the laptop has become slower than usual and gets strucked. Any suggestions on this please...

Hi, I am considering to buy this model:

    Acer Aspire E5-576G-81GD

I would like to know about the ram memory. I have read that it comes with 8bg and it is dual channel, but it is 1 slot of 8gb or two slots of 4gb? And it is DDR3 or 4? The acer says it is DDR3 but I also found comments of the consumers that says it is DDR4. According to them, I7 processor does not even support DDR3, only 4. I will post here the link for the laptop at amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-i7-8550U-GeForce-E5-576G-81GD/dp/B075FLJ87G/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=i7+ssd+laptop&qid=1552409419&s=gateway&sr=8-5

Yup, had the same & found sollution…

    1. Need to install required drivers (in my case - Serial I/O driver )
    2. changed touch pad sitting in BIOS (Press F2 on startup) from Basic to advanced. (As & from above)

same problem & same device - but happened after service related bios

voilla.. Now zoom & pinch works well as new
