Acer 5750 Touchpad issue

Hi there, I have an ACER ASPIRE 5750 running windows 10. It's about 5-6 years old.

 

All of a sudden my touchpad has started playing up, autoclicking by itself all over the place. It has basically made the computer unusable and is frustarting (as can be imagined).

It's not a sensitivity issue, and my virus checks are all done and up to date. I've updated the driver, and uninstalled and reinstalled it.

 

Any ideas on what more I can do? It came on quite strange. Was using it one morning and it was mostly fine. And then using it that night it was all over the show. I wonder if it's a physical problem with the computer itself.
