Hello guys !

I've got a Predator 15 G9-593 and I've got a question: I want to upgrade it with a new SSD on the M.2 port and an SATA SSD on the SATA port instead of the HDD. But i've got few questions: Does the M.2 port support NVMe ? And also, in the Intel IRST soft, I see 4 ports (2 used by hdd and ssd, but the others no), so, is there maybe an other M2 port ?

Hope you can help me,

Thanks for reading!

It has 2 M.2 NVMe slots, one of which is M.2 2280 on which the SSD you currently have is installed and the other one is M.2 22110.

There isn't a forth port that I know of.

On the place next the SSD should be another port. On the left side you even have the screw hole, so you can put a screw to hold the 2nd ssd. Now I don't know why the 2nd port isn't there. It looks that Acer has played a big joke by not soldering the port itself there. I now remember there were other users who didn't have the port there, but I don't why Acer didn't put the second port.

On the photo the screw corresponds to the installed SSD, i just removed it to take the photo. Do you think it’s possible under the chassis? Because I don’t see the preinstalled RAM, just see extension slots

Here is a review. Under the section disassembly, maintenance and upgrade options you can see pictures of where the second port is. I highly doubt it is on the other side of the MB. If you find a good technician he can actually solder the port on where the plates(i don't if they are called plates) are. I think this would work.

    Hi,

The second M.2 SSD can not be installed as the port missing in your laptop, it's actually optional, so they didn't provide the port, I think.

I think I will send an email to Acer, why the port appears in Windows if it’s not in hardware

If you have a GTX 1060 GPU on your Predator 15 then M.2 Slot is only 1.

If your laptop has gtx1060 then its model is g5-593, not g9-593. The reason why the 2nd ssd port appears is because it is actually there, just the actual slot(the plastic thing with the copper plates, where the ssd connects) is missing.
