How do I get the backplate off the helios 300?

I got my hdd and the installation kit Acer support sent me. Next I just need to disassemble the laptop but it's a pain. Am I supposed to just slide a card between the keyboard and the back over? I tried to run it through the left side as the instructions said but I can't force it through the ethernet port and I can't slide a card anywhere else. Anyone have a video or something?
