the usb ports are reporting running at high-speed, which isn't fast enough for a particular device

I've been trying to run a Celestron Neximage 5 camera on my aspire 5542 laptop, and it's giving me issues with slow transfer rates.  When I checked in device manager it reports the hub is running at high-speed instead of full-speed.  The camera seems to work flawlessly on my other computers, including an older computer that was built in 2002.  Is there a workaround to get more speed out of the computers usb ports or do I have to buy a new laptop?

All four of the USB ports on the Aspire 5542 are USB 2.0 ports.

Have you attempted to use more than one of the ports?  or just a particular one?
