Hi,

The harddisk of my Acer Aspire 7736Z crashed. I have a recovery disk but it does not help. When I removed the harddisk and rebooted the laptop with the recovery disk then it asked for last copy of backup but I don't have that. When I reconnected the harddisk and rebooted from recovery disk I get the blue screen again.

I can buy a new harddisk and put it back again. But how can I get the windows 7 CD? Microsoft quoted $199 for the CD.

I can hardly read the serial number of Windows 7 sticker as it is a 4 year old laptop. Can Acer Support give me the serial number on Windows 7 certificate or send me the Win7 CD?

Thanks for your help.

    Good day

If your machine came pre-loaded with Windows 7 from Acer, then you can get the set of Recovery Discs from Acer for your machine. Contact Acer Technical support and they will help you. Microosft will sell you normal Windows 7 Disc with no drivers and applications.
