    Well, an eRecovery re-set was only to confirm what we already suspect...a fried USB module. Google "55.MVHN7.001" with the quotes. The price of the module board varies depending on the vendor but some vendors seem very reasonably priced. Before purchasing however, you should probably try to reseat the old board just in case the contacts simply need to be cleaned of corrosion due to heat and humidity.
