ACER VX 15 RAM UPGRADE DIFFERENT FREQUENCY

 I'm about to upgrade my acer vx 15 ram, the stock RAM that it had when i got it was 4GB 1200Mhz, I'm planning to add an 8GB 2400Mhz ram, I'm just not sure if they would sync at a lower frequency. Would adding a RAM at different frequency even work for this laptop?

You don't need to do anything, it's working fine as it is running at 1197MHz(near enough to 1200MHz), when it works in dual channel it will result in 2x1197=2394(near 2400).

Does it show as 1200MHz in CPU-z? If so that's a DDR4-2400 RAM already installed in your laptop.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your immediate responce. Because i was going to upgrade it with a 16gb. Maybe i should buy another 8gb to work in dual channel
