So Confused Bluetooth Driver Re-Install - Atheros

Hi,

 

My bluetooth is no longer detecting new devices that I want to pair. I've tried everything. So now I want to see if manually updating the BT driver will work. But, there's a problem - the dates.

 

I have 3 native Bluetooth drivers:

 

The current Atheros driver (Bluetooth USB module) is dated 5/18/2016.

 

The most recent BT driver on the Acer site is older, dated 7/28/2015.

 

Question 1: Should I replace my current Atheros 2016 driver with the "latest" 2015 Atheros Bluetooth Driver?

 

Question 2: I downloaded the zip from Acer and I have these folders. I don't see the "suite" anywhere in it. When I have Device Manager automatically search the folder for the driver, it doesn't find it. How do I actually install the driver?

Hi,

Have you checked whether BT is switched on in settings, go to Settings(click start and wheel), Devices, click Bluetooth.

As for the driver, Acer driver may work better than MS drivers even though it's older, extract the BT only zip file and install after uninstaaling the BT drivers in Device manager.
