I have a acer laptop with a nvidia GeForce 920m Dedicated gpu, and it shuts down randomly mid work. It doesn't seem to shut off when I use my intergrated graphics card and the Dedicated GPU is updated. Here are logs from event viewer.

It shuts off while you're gaming? It sounds like it overheated and shut down to protect itself.

What the error message means is that the system has shut down unexpectedly. It could be anything including overheating of the dedicated GPU or incompatibility with a driver.

In what situations, while you are running on the dedicated GPU, the device shuts down. Is it while gaming, or is it while normal use? Or maybe both? Download HWiNFO and after opening it, click on sensors. There you will see your CPU and GPU temperatures. Report what are the average and max temperatures of the CPU and GPU, while gaming. We have to see if the unexpected shutdown is caused by overheating.

Also do a battery reset by sticking a paper clip into the battery reset pinhole(if your battery is removable just remove the battery). The laptop should not be charging. After removing/resetting the battery wait for 10 minutes and then press the power button continuously for 30 seconds(if you have removable battery just put it back in before pressing the power button). And I would also try reinstalling the Nvidia driver too. Uninstall the driver and then reset your system. Windows will automatically install it. Try running with this driver and see if this unexpected shutdown happens again.
Always post the following characterisitcs of the device:
    -Model number
    -Part number(not required, but helpful)
    -CPU
    -GPU
    -Operating system

Helios 300 and Nitro 5 users DO NOT update the BIOS to version 1.22 if you don't want the keyboard's backlight to turn off after 30 seconds even when the device is plugged in.
