I bought this product recently.

The laptop has 256GB SSD already, but as it is a "gamer" pc, I wanted to fit in an extra HDD/SDD. I was under the impression that the extra bay for storage, actually worked for inserting an extra HDD/SSD.

However, opening the bay only gives me the ability to put in an extra storage device.

There's no SATA cable or tray in the bay.

Is this normal?
Do I need to buy the separately (tray, sata cables, etc)?
Can I do this without opening the entire back side?

    Hello,

    1. Is this normal?
      Yes.
    2. Do I need to buy the separately (tray, sata cables, etc)?
Yes. May be you already have a small bag of 4 screws included in the box. In all cases, I can list you the parts needed.
    3. Can I do this without opening the entire back side?
No you'll have to remove the bottom of the laptop to install and connect the HDD cable.

Are there any guides as to how this would be accomplished?

It seems weird to have a bay, to insert a 2.5" HDD / SSD, but no actual work to get it to work, without tampering with your warranty..

No. I can write a little tutorial but I would need time. About the warranty terms, I would suggest you to contact your customer service at first.

I totally agree but it's another story...

    A guide would be perfect.
Or else I'll try taking it back to the retailer and have them do it, as they sold it to me with the words, that I could insert another storage device.
